Description Ja, vandaag Malacatos. Omdat het nu duidelijk is dat geen enkel huis, huur of koop, duur of goedkoop, geschikt is wegens de bouwwijze waardoor de muren altijd vochtig zijn en er vaak al snel na de bouw schimmelvorming optreedt, zou de enige mogelijkheid om hier te kunnen wonen zijn dat er een huis nieuw gebouwd wordt dat beter geconstrueerd is. De kans dat wij die mogelijkheid hebben is natuurlijk 'niet groot', maar naar anders huizen kijken heeft in ieder geval geen zin, dus is het beter eens te kijken of er een stuk grond te vinden is dat echt geschikt is. Belangrijkste daarbij is dat er geen 'dure buren' vlakbij zijn die hun kleding gewassen met supergeparfumeerde waspoeder aan de lijn hangen, geen houtstook of barbeque's, geen fabrica's in de buurt waar ze af en toe afval verbranden, en of er wel electriciteit en water is. Telefoon is er zo wie zo niet, er is al jaren een enorm te kort aan telefoonlijnen in heel Ecuador, en om een of andere reden wordt daar ook al jaren niets aan gedaan. Heb je een vaste lijn, mooi, anders komt die er 'nooit'. Echter, mobiel bereik is overal prima waar ik vandaag ben geweest, ook in de bergen, en erg goedkoop voor onze begrippen, 3 eurocent per minuut vanaf een vaste lijn in Nederland. En internet, in de buurt is het alleenstaande restaurant Timbuktu, daar hebben ze een antenne, gericht op een grote antenne op een berg, en op die manier hebben ze internet, wat nog aardig goedkoop zou moeten zijn ook, alleen de eerste aanschaf is nogal wat. Vanmorgen om 8.30 had ik een afspraak met Pedro en we zijn eerst naar Henri gegaan die we op zijn land hebben opgezocht, en die hebben me rondgeleid, ze hebben zelf geen auto dus we hebben een camioneta gehuurd. Wel, van van alle locaties waar we zijn geweest was Lote 3 zeker de beste. Het rook er heel zuiver, er is heel weinig kans dat er dicht in de buurt nog iets anders gebouwd wordt, dat gebeurt allemaal halfweg tusse Lote 3 en de verharde weg, daar zijn nog heel veel (kleine) Lotes, allemaal vlak naast elkaar. Het is ongeveer anderhalve kilometer omhoog vanaf de verharde weg over een smal weggetje waar na die groep huizen bijna nooit een auto komt, dus ook weinig stof. Er is water voorhanden en de elektriciteitslijnen zie je zelfs op de foto's. Natuurlijk, het is wat ruw terrein met te veel begroeing, maar dat is geen probleem, alleen werk. Ook is het lopend via een korter weggetje slechts 10 minuten lopen naar de verharde weg, zoals wanneer ik met een bus zou gaan. De afstand tot Malacatos, zoals een vogel vliegt, is ongeveer 4 kilometer. Met de auto is het misschien 6 km. De andere bouwterreinen zijn eigenlijk allemaal afgekeurd, of te ver van de bewooonde wereld, of te veel gevaren in de directe omgeving. Nou, volgens Keith is het mogelijk in een half jaar een goed huis te bouwen, en hij kan en wil dat ook vanaf Loja doen, die afstand is hem en zijn bedrijf niet te ver (Timbuktu en de huizen daar in de buurt hebben ze ook gebouwd). Of het realistisch is hierover na te denken? Dat weet ik nog niet... In ieder geval dit zou volgens onze evaluatie de enige manier zijn. En wat betreft de gevaren in de gemeente Malacatos, er zijn drie broeders die het meeste onderwijs geven hier, waarvan een nu net deze maand in Engeland is, ik heb de twe die hier zijn het artikel in Ontwaakt over Karin's MCS laten lezen, allemaal 'diep onder de indruk, heel interessant, duidelijk, enz', en ze willen graag hun best doen om in hun onderwijs over te brengen wat onze situatie is en wat iedereen die dat wil kan doen om het leven voor ons zo 'veilig' mogelijk te maken. Henri, de eenvoudige boer, bood aan om Nick meteen te informeren zodra die terug is uit Engeland, maar ik vertelde dat ik hem misschien alvast in Engeland wil bellen, Keith blijkt zijn schoonvader te zijn en heeft natuurlijk zijn telefoonnummer. Tot zover het laatste nieuws!Nog wel grappig, in het restaurantje waar ik net gegeten heb aan het plein in Malacatos was maar 1 andere gast, een redelijk jonge vrouw, en die vond het leuk e.e.a. te vragen, zoals waar ik vandaan kom, wat ik van Ecuador vind, of ik kinderen heb, getrouwd ben (lapelkaartje van Karin en 4208 dagen was duidelijk), broers heb, of die getrouwd zijn, allemaal behoorlijk normale vragen (in Ecuador praten 'vreemden' veel meer met elkaar en zeggen elkaar normaal ook goedendag, behalve uiteraard de grootste steden), vooral omdat ze ook steeds begint met 'disculpe, con todo respecto', oftewel, 'pardon, met alle respect...', en dan de vraag. Op een gegeven moment vroeg ze of ze mocht raden hoe oud ik was, ze dacht 40 jaar (ze heeft niet gevraagd of dat klopte), en vond dat ik Honrado, Guapo, bien conservado en iets dat volgens mij 'goede algemene ontwikkeling' betekent, ben. Had ik niet nog een Tio die soltero is, want ik ben nu eenmaal casado? Oke, ondertussen heb ik weer een flink uurtje alles getypt en ga nu deze laatste berichten uploaden.
